Day Skipper Course – Tomorrow !

I start my Day Skipper course tomorrow!!

So looking forward to it.

The boat is prepped; beds are made, kitchen is stocked, clothes are unpacked, books and toys are also on-board; we are ready and prepared.

Brand new life jackets, wet- weather gear ( though the forecast is for gorgeous weather), soon to be a topped up water tank, batteries fully charged, boat cleaned, towels washed and ready… Continue reading

Navigation

Maybe it is strange to start the Coastal Skipper/ Yachtmaster navigation theory course before I have even completed my Day Skipper, but so far so good. At least if I do enough of the course, the theory side of the Day Skipper course should be a cinch.

Alpha, Bravo, Charlie ………….

Busy learning our phonetic alphabet this weekend for our VHF radio course on Tuesday.

We’re also researching an online course on navigation. My husband has some qualifications but I am far too much of a novice not to take a course. We don’t want to leave until we both have the RYA Yachtmaster Ocean certificate, which is hours of study away so we should really get a move on… Continue reading
