We left the peace and tranquility of the anchorage in Portimão and this morning moved Samantha to the visitor’s pontoon in the smaller marina next to the bridge to fill up with much needed water and also organise some things.
You can berth here for a maximum of 3 days as a visitor ( there is only 1 visitor’s space available) and it costs for the THREE days the same as it would, at the present season ( medium) in the official Portimão marina for ONE day . So this is a bargain! To find it go down, past the larger marina and you’ll see the small marina just before the bridge.
Portimão is a great town to explore, it has many interesting features, lots of things going on, all the shops and supermarkets you need and the main marina, located on the sea front is a lovely place to visit too with a lovely esplanade over looking the lovely beach!
You can also take a dingy ride to the adjacent village of Ferraguado – another place well worth the visit. ( Click here for my information on Ferraguado).
