About The Boat

Our boat:

She is a Beneteau Moorings 432, built in 1988 as a charter boat bound for the Caribbean. 13 meters long, 4,22 metres wide, she has three cabins, plenty of wood inside and we love her.

Her name is Samantha; we kept the name.

Let me show you around:

This is the saloon. The main hub of the boat. A cosy seating area where we gather for meals ( usually) and out-of-the-sun entertainment.

The galley. It’s great – I love it. It boasts TWO big fridge units (seen here in front) as well as a great cooker, plenty of storage space and even a lovely little window infront of the double kitchen sink! Luxury!

The chart table with all the inboard equipment, including a lovely music system – with speakers inside and out. Needs a little updating, which we are working on…….

Our cabin. Say no more other than it’s cosy, with a lovely skylight above our heads and I think it’s great. I also love sleeping on a boat , with that gentle rocking motion underneath; usually leaves me sleeping like a baby!

Our bathroom – or rather head. Seriously needs updating but will do for now!

This cabin is now shared by the two girls. It is usually a little less tidy than this! But a cosy space none the less; they seem to love it!

I should update this picture sometime. This was how it was before we moved on-board permanently! It is now a storage space for all kinds of things though mainly tools.

Bathroom / head number two.

The cockpit where a great deal of the action takes place and where, on a sunny afternoon is a great place to sit and read……

This is for the girls. A favourite jumping spot off the boat.

She holds 800 litres of fresh water in two tanks, her fuel tank holds  a further 210 litres of diesel, she has a good engine, a solid hull ( newly painted!) her draught in the water is 1,60 metres and her mast is 18 metres high.

She is our home. We love her.
